Background

The major objectives of the SINET project are:

  • To analyze and document various success and failure stories of industry  networks from Sweden/Europe and India/Asia, and to ascertain their impacts on environment and sustainability aspects of the respective micro regions

  • To create awareness on the influence of industry network (key economic  activity) on the micro region’s environmental and  sustainability aspects

  • To facilitate focused / thematic exchange of information and experience amongst the stakeholders of the selected industrial  networks and selected micro regions

  • To facilitate an operational and practical dialogue amongst various stakeholders – Govt., Industry organizations, Industry, NGO, Research institutions etc, – from Sweden/Europe and India/Asia

  • To document and publish conference proceedings, outcomes and recommendations, besides widely disseminating the same to all relevant stakeholder organizations.


 
 

Concept

This expert group meeting will discuss the sustainability and unsustainability aspects of industrial networking with reference to the Textile, Leather industry and medical / Health tourism service sector and its allied network. Indian and European case studies pertaining to industrial networking will be presented to draw analogy between the two and identify the best practices that can be adopted for preparing a base model that is not only more efficient, but which is intrinsically adjusted to the tolerances and characteristics of the natural system(micro-region)
